Sendways operates across many corridors. Here are the currencies supported for payments and payouts.
Sendways is a global platform operating across dozens of corridors. Supporting multiple currencies in both directions is essential to making peer delivery work.
Sender payment currencies. Senders can pay in their local currency. Supported currencies currently include: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, AED, NGN, GHS, KES, ZAR, XOF (West African CFA franc), MAD, EGP, and more.
Traveler payout currencies. Travelers receive payment in their preferred currency. Most major currencies supported for sender payment are also supported for traveler payout.
Exchange rates. When a transaction crosses currencies (sender pays in GBP, traveler receives in NGN), a currency conversion is applied. Sendways uses a market-rate conversion with a disclosed spread. The exchange rate is shown at booking confirmation so both parties can see the net amounts.
Local payment methods. In addition to card payments, Sendways supports local payment methods in key markets: bank transfer, mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money in relevant markets), and SEPA in Europe.
Currency fluctuation risk. For long-lead bookings (booked weeks in advance), exchange rates may move between booking and payout. The rate applied is the rate at the time of booking for sender payment and the rate at the time of payout for traveler receipt.
Adding a payout method. Set your preferred payout currency and method in account settings. You can have multiple payout methods and switch between them.
