Sendways is not a courier with barcode scanning. Here is how tracking actually works on a peer platform.
Tracking on a community platform works differently from a courier service. There is no barcode scan at every hub. But that does not mean you are in the dark.
The handoff confirmation. When you hand your package to the traveler and both of you confirm in the app, that is your first checkpoint. You will receive a notification that the delivery is in progress.
In-app messaging. The most reliable way to track is direct communication with the traveler. A quick message, such as "Have you landed?" or "Is the drop-off scheduled?", takes ten seconds and gives you real-time information.
Delivery confirmation. When the traveler delivers your item and the recipient confirms receipt, you receive an instant notification. This is also the moment the escrow payment is released to the traveler.
What to do if the traveler goes quiet. If you have not heard anything within 12 hours of the expected delivery and messages are unanswered, open a support ticket. Sendways holds payment in escrow until delivery is confirmed, so your money is protected.
Set expectations with your recipient. Make sure whoever is receiving your package has the traveler's phone number and knows roughly when to expect them. Many delays happen because the recipient is unavailable or unreachable at drop-off.
Peer delivery is a human system. A little communication goes further than any tracking number.
